These cameras can help combat crime in your area
Your help is needed to make the South Coast safer for everyone.
Automated number plate recognition cameras are helping private security companies and the police solve crime.
Both are committed to using this highly effective equipment to safeguard the community in every way possible. There are cameras placed at various spots along the coast and these have been instrumental in helping combat crime.

For example, from their elevated position, these cameras are able to pick up in which direction a stolen vehicle is travelling. This information can be used by security companies and the police to set up a roadblock to intercept the vehicle, which may in turn lead to arrests and the recovery of the vehicle.
However, there are ‘blind spots’ along the coast not covered by these cameras, but where they are desperately needed.
But they cost money, both to set up and operate – and they need to be operational 24-7 in order to be effective. For this reason, the community is urged to step up and help raise the funds needed for the purchase of at least three more cameras.
Each camera costs R25 000 (excluding VAT, but including mounting and installation). The running cost is about R500 per camera, per month.
The more cameras set up, the better for everyone in the community. So, even if your donation is small, it will still play a big role in making the region safer for all.
A trust fund account has been established for potential donors. For more information or for the banking details, contact 072 3625632.
