Man fatally stabbed in Hibberdene

The man demanded cellphones and money from the couple. 

The untimely death of Sandile Miya (28) of Mfzazane who was fatally stabbed in Hibberdene last Friday has been a terrible shock for his family.

According to his father, Musa Khumalo, his son was at the beach with his girlfriend in Simpson Road, opposite the Carousel Holiday Resort when they were approached by a man armed with a knife.

The man demanded cellphones and money from the couple.

“He fought with the knifeman, was stabbed and died at the scene,” said Mr Khumalo.

Mr Miya was a qualified electrician, but was unemployed.

Police confirmed that at the time of writing, no arrest had been made.

Hibberdene Saps is investigating a case of murder.
