Traffic offenders arrested at Gcilima roadblock

Those arrested were released after paying fines.

Five people were arrested and charged for not complying with traffic regulations at a recent roadblock conducted by Margate Saps, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality law enforcement and Margate youth desk members at Gcilima location.

“The vehicles were inspected and searched to ensure that they were in good condition to transport the public, as well as to prevent the illegal transportation of items that might be used to commit criminal activities,” said police spokesman Sergeant Sibu Ncane.

Those arrested were released after paying fines.

“The safety of citizens is the responsibility of everyone and not only law enforcement agencies – report those who do not adhere to the rules of the road,” said Sgt Ncane.
