12-hour cycle pays off for vulnerable children

Three former South Coast pupils committed to cycling for 12 hours to raise funds for charity.
Megan Bircher and the Robertson twins, Jaryd and Tyler spent a day on the assault bike to raise funds for Give a Child a Family.
The three are all former Southcity Christian Schools pupils.
Megan is currently studying towards a BCom business management degree at the University of Pretoria, while Jaryd is studying for his sport science degree at Stellenbosch University. and Tyler is teaching online.
The trio managed to raised a whopping R8 705 last Thursday by pedalling away from 5.30am to 5.30pm.
This equated to a distance of more than 300 kilometres, and saw them burn an impressive 4500 calories.
“We did it for charity and for the challenge,” said Megan.
They were more than happy with the sum raised and thanked both Crossfit Wild Coast members and the community for all the support.
