Nappy drive well received
She was surprised by the kindness of her family and friends who pledged.
Durban local, Preashnee Sewdayal held an adult nappy drive for Khanya Hospice in Umkomaas recently.
Preashnee had heard about and seen the type of work hospice does through the media and wanted to do her share for them.
She delivered about 20 packets of adult nappies to Khanya Hospice in September and another 24 packets recently.
As part of a project for a training course at a religious organisation, Preashnee contacted her family and friends and asked them to pledge a pack of adult diapers per month for 12 months.
She was surprised by the kindness of her family and friends who pledged.
“We are truly blessed,” said Khanya Hospice CEO, Neil McDonald.
“We use adult nappies and toiletries all the time. We often get to patients’ houses and they do not have the essential toiletries.”
“Unfortunately, we cannot turn a blind eye and we try and help as much as we can with the limited resources that we have.”
Khanya Hospice thanks Preashnee for the donation and is grateful to others who have pledged.
