Driver swerves, Polo rolls for cat on Suicide Bend

Lazer 911 was dispatched to assist at the motor vehicle accident.

A driver swerved to avoid a cat that entered the roadway, causing a VW Polo to cross a barrier and overturn on Suicide Bend between Southport and Sunwich Port during the night (Wednesday, September 30).

Lazer 911 was dispatched to assist at the motor vehicle accident, which was travelling from Southport towards Sunwich Port with the driver and two passengers.

According to the driver, he swerved to avoid the cat before the vehicle veered onto the right-hand shoulder, crossed the barrier and overturned, coming to rest on its roof.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all three occupants were safely accounted for.

Lazer 911 assessed the scene and confirmed the roadway was safe for motorists travelling in both directions.
