Cooler box bust for cops

Two men and a woman were arrested for selling liquor without a licence at Gcilima area.

It was another busy weekend for Margate SAPS Crime Prevention and Rapid Response team members who continued with the eradication of the illegal sale of alcohol in rural and urban areas of the Margate policing precinct.

Two men and a woman were arrested for selling liquor without a licence at Gcilima area.

Police spokesman, Sergeant Sibu Ncane said that a man was also arrested for drunkenness in public. Cooler boxes with liquor were confiscated.

Margate station commissioner, Brigadier William Slabbert stressed the need for the public to co-operate with the police and to abide by the municipal by-laws, especially during the festive period.

Ongoing operations in his policing precinct will continue to ensure that everyone enjoys the holidays within the range of the law.
