Man fatally electrocuted

An autopsy will be conducted at the Park Rynie Medico Legal Mortuary.

A man (29) was electrocuted to death while illegally connecting electricity in Roseville informal settlement, Umzinto last week.

According to Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis, the man attempted to connect electrical cables near a stream.

“When he tried to get out of the stream, an illegally connected cable touched the water and electrocuted him,” said Captain Francis.

An autopsy will be conducted at the Park Rynie Medico Legal Mortuary.

Detective Warrant Officer Rajesh Maharaj of Umzinto Detective Service is investigating the incident.
