Toddler dies of burn injuries
According to provincial police spokesman, Captain Nqobile Gwala, the grandmother was relaxing with her family when a man known to them entered the home.

A toddler succumbed to burn injuries in hospital, after she was locked in her home along with her mother and grandmother which was then set alight in KwaNyuswa area in Ezinqoleni last week.
According to provincial police spokesman, Captain Nqobile Gwala, the grandmother was relaxing with her family when a man known to them entered the home.
“The man had a five-litre container of petrol and he poured it all over the house where the victim (grandmother) was sitting with her family.”
He locked the house with the victims inside and set the room alight, however they managed to escape with injuries.
They were taken to hospital for medical attention.
However, the 22-month-old granddaughter later died in hospital due to burn wounds sustained.
Police were called to the scene and charges of murder and attempted murder were opened at Ezinqoleni SAPS.
Detectives initiated an investigation and the 24-year-old suspect later handed himself over to the police on the same day.
