Water woes: Latest update from Ugu regarding affected areas
If you are without water, here is the latest update from Ugu District Municipality.
This statement was received from Ugu District Municipality earlier today:
- Bhobhoyi abstraction, purification and bulk distribution is at 100 percent since Sunday afternoon and all systems have been opened. The plant level has improved to above 70 percent and all plant boosters are running.
- Marburg system: The Marburg reservoir is healthy and Esperanza pump station is also running to supply Bhobhoyi Jesus and upper Marburg water supply.
- Northern system: Umzimkhulu command reservoir above 50 percent. Ntweni supply stable; reservoir level at North Shepstone are low and being attended to increase feed.
- Melville feed to resupply Hibberdene, Woodgrange, Pumula and affected areas; Hibberdene coastal system water restored only high areas in Catalina still affected. Lower Woodgrange reservoir has started receiving water and pumping to upper Woodgrange will resume latest tomorrow morning.
- Anerley reservoir climbing to restore Southport, Anerley supply.
- Pumula no water; is currently being troubleshot for flow restrictions.
- Albersville reservoir supplying CBD stable.
- Shelly Beach, Uvongo, Margate CBD supply stable. Manaba supply is being monitored with supply augmented during morning peak period and system demand is high with high areas experience supply during peak periods. Uvongo Ostend Road break is being attended.
- Gamalakhe system: main reservoir 50 percent level reached early morning and tower pump started to supply white city and surrounding streets. Tin Town no water attended attended and water leaks on the meters being attended. Msikaba line closed to stabilize Gamalakhe system.
- Seaslopes Command: reservoir is climbing slowly. Kaisers supply still off to build up Seaslopes which affects lower Nosita and Margate ext 3. Ramsgate South and North reservoir bulk supply restored; there is a bulk pipeline affecting Ramsgate south areas by pistols salon.
- Mboshongweni supply was opened this morning.
- Umthavuna system: abstraction, purification and bulk distribution; plant bulk supply.
- Hanover pump station started to supply inland Izingolweni and KwaXolo systems. Break on the bulk main line at Hanover pump station was repaired last night.
- Coastal system: Palm Beach, Grassmere and Glenmore systems will be supplied today.
- Port Edward reservoir building up after supply was opened this morning.
