5 fun things to do on New Year’s evening under lockdown
It's not all doom and gloom. You can have the best time with your family at home under level 3.
- Get out the board games. A fun-filled and intimate evening can be spent around the dining room table at home with your family playing cards or board games.
2. Make non-alcoholic festive drinks.

There are far more interesting alcohol-free options than ever before, so why not rethink and try something different than your traditional, boozy cocktails.
3. Become a master chef. If you have always wanted to learn how to cook or prepare a special traditional meal, now is the time to host a fancy dinner party for your family. Bring out the pretty decorations and prepare the table for a feast.

4. Light the fire! Make a firepit by collecting some wood and bringing out some blankets. Enjoy the evening under the stars and telling tales around a warm fire. If you have a musician in your midst, bring out the guitar or drums.

5. Music is a brilliant way to lift the spirits, so why not compile a playlist to have a karaoke evening where the family can sing-a-long to some pop, rock and ballads.
