Beauty queen ready to fly SA flag in Philippines

In July 2021, the teenager will represent South Africa at the international pageant in the Philippines.

Eighteen-year-old Ntombenhle Ndovela of KwaNzimakwe was recently crowned Miss Teen Globe/Tourism SA and intends to use the platform to build confidence and leadership among the youth.

In July 2021, the teenager will represent South Africa at the international pageant in the Philippines.

The competition was held in Durban and saw 21 teens take to stage.

“Everyone was anxious and nervous but we had an amazing time together,” said Ntombenhle.

She said it was an amazing moment when her name was called out among the top five contestants.

Ntombenhle Ndovela was crowned Miss Teen Globe/Tourism SA in Durban earlier this month (December).

“At the end of the day, it’s not about winning but accepting the new role and responsibility.”

As part of the build up to the pageant, Ntombenhle was involved in charity work, where she visited schools and donated school uniforms to a family in her community and stationery and clothing to a church.

Ntombenhle who also matriculated from Marburg Secondary this year is no stranger to modelling and pageants.

She started modelling in 2017.

In 2018, she was crowned Miss Teen KZN Top Model and Miss Heritage. She also took part in the Face of Port Shepstone, where she was second princess and runner-up in the Miss Ingeli contest.

“I am ready to fly the South African flag in the Philippines,” she said.

In her spare time Ntombenhle sings, dances, knits and crochets.

She is looking forward to 2021, as she intends to pursue tertiary studies and is confident of winning the international title.
