Murder accused found hanged
Mr Buckland had last month been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife Ilonka (70) at their home in Ramsgate.
Ed Buckland (78), who was due to appear in court soon on charges of murder, was found dead at his home in Ramsgate last week Friday (16th).
Police spokesman Sergeant Sibu Ncane said Margate police was investigating the matter.
It is believed he hanged himself in his garage.
Mr Buckland had last month been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife Ilonka (70) at their home in Ramsgate.
She was found dead in the bath on the evening of Sunday, March 21.
Police found her with a cut wound on her neck and three kitchen knives next to the bath tub.
Mr Buckland appeared in the Port Shepstone Regional Court earlier this month and the case had been postponed to May 13, for purposes of a plea.
He had been out on bail, with conditions.
