Our Southern Explorer Real Estate members Real and Proper T as well as Re/Max have indicated a significant surge in properties being purchased for the purpose of remote work stations.
The property sector had expected coastal towns seeing a drop in the market place given the economic decline but in fact witnessed the opposite.
Price growth trends are also seeing a higher growth in coastal areas compared to inland locations.
Apart from the fact that our locals are super-friendly, we also have the convenience of direct flights between Margate and Gauteng, and the value for money in terms of affordability, places us in a very desirable position.
The tradition had always been for the older generation to retire to coastal villages but stats now show a surge in the younger buyers heading our way.
This is a game changer for the South Coast.
And with the supposed Slow Coast now having access to fibre, great schools and popular golf courses all adding to the tick list as to why the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast’s Paradise of the Zulu Kingdom makes the perfect sense as a base setup for remote working.
