The complaint about the child being locked in the car was posted on a WhatsApp group by a local security company.
A baby was left in a locked car in the parking lot at the Southcoast Mall on Wednesday (yesterday) morning.
Temperatures yesterday had reached 25 degrees by midday. The complaint about the child being locked in the car was posted on a WhatsApp group by a local security company.
Glen Preston of Med-Evac said the baby, believed to be about three or four weeks old, had reportedly been left in the car for at least 15 minutes, maybe even as long as half an hour.
Med-Evac and Port Shepstone K9 Search and Rescue arrived at the parking lot to find the child in the car, crying. “The mother of the child returned moments before we were about to break the window,” said Mr Preston.
The matter was handed over to the police.
