Police embark on crime awareness campaign

Port Shepstone police is currently embarking on crime awareness campaigns in the CBD and surrounding areas.

“The purpose of these campaigns is to educate the public on safety tips while shopping and utilising ATMs and personal safety,” said police spokesperson Captain Petros Mpinge.

“Learners from the local schools have also been sensitised on crimes such as bullying and purchasing of suspected stolen property. This was done by handing out pamphlets in and around the CBD, as well as on local radio stations,” he added.

Port Shepstone SAPS also conducted a joint crime awareness campaign at the taxi rank with Community Safety and Liaison, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, Business Against Crime and other departments, including two taxi associations, Santaco and Hlokoma on Tuesday this week.
