Women’s Day’s joint operation resounding success

At the roadblock, pamphlets raising awareness around gender based violence were distributed.

Fourteen motorists were charged for contravention of road traffic regulations at a successful operation on Women’s Day.

Female members of Margate Saps, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Law Enforcement, with Ugu District Community Safety and Liaison volunteers conducted a joint operation roadblock along Marine Drive and Wartski Drive in Margate.

Police spokesman, Sergeant Sibu Ncane said the motorists were released after paying fines and others are expected to pay in due course.

Margate Saps Station Commander Brigadier William Slabbert thanked all who took part in this operation, as well as the public for tolerance and co-operation with law enforce agencies.
