Gamalakhe murderer convicted
On 10 December 2020, 21 year old Ntshumayelo Bonginkosi Mbili was arrested in Verulam where he had fled to, charged and detained.
On 7 December 2019 a thirty one year old male was found stabbed in the upper chest at Sgedleni area in Gamalakhe and rushed to Gamalakhe Clinic in a wheelbarrow where succumbed to his injuries.
A murder case was opened for investigation at Gamalakhe SAPS and Detective Sergeant Mlungisi Jabe began investigating in earnest.
On 10 December 2020, 21 year old Ntshumayelo Bonginkosi Mbili was arrested in Verulam where he had fled to, charged and detained.
He was denied bail and remained in police custody throughout his trial.
After several court appearances in the Ramsgate High Court, he was sentenced on Tuesday 3 August 2021 to twelve year’s direct imprisonment for murder.
He was also found unfit to possess a firearm. UGU District Commissioner, major General Sethenya Nxamagele was pleased with the outcome of the case and thanked the detective for a thorough investigation.
