Lions thanks heroes
The Lions offered free food and drinks to all guests as well as thank you goodie bags and privately donated toys for the children.
The Patriot’s Day celebration last Saturday started with a mass parade from Hibiscus Mall to the Ramsgate Lions clubhouse.
It took place as part of the weekly Car Boot and Crafters Market at the Lions club.
Margate Drums and Pipes welcomed the convoy of police cars, security companies and Community Policing Forum (CPF) members. Gcilima Primary’s choir of 15 pupils and four teachers serenaded the guests with their angelic voices.

The Lions received generous donations from Manaba Spar, Woolworths Margate, Pick n Pay Margate and Ramsgate Stationers, which enabled them to host the event as a celebration for the people who protected the area, businesses and lives during the destructive riots a few weeks ago.
The Lions offered free food and drinks to all guests as well as thank you goodie bags and privately donated toys for the children.
This event should be remembered as a symbol of unity in the community and that the present challenges can be overcome by being united.
