Two dead, five injured in Hibberdene crash

The injured patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.

Two people died and others were injured in a crash on the N2 at Hibberdene during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service was among those who responded to the incident.

“When emergency services arrived they found that a bakkie had lost control and overturned, rolling from the south bound onto the north bound lanes,” said spokesman Craig Botha.

Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that seven occupants were traveling on the bakkie.

Two people sustained critical injuries, three sustained serious injuries and sadly two sustained fatal injuries, succumbing to their injuries before emergency services arrived.

The injured patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.
