Teen rapist sentenced
She bravely reported the rape and Cele was arrested the next day by members from Saps Msinsini.
Rapist Siyanda Ngwaja Cele (33) was handed a sentence of 18 years in jail the by the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court on August 31.
On April 23 in 2018, a 14-year-old child from Ngoleleni Ward in Msinsini was on her way home from school when Cele threatened her with a knife and raped her.
She bravely reported the rape and Cele was arrested the next day by members from Saps Msinsini. He remained in police custody throughout his trial.
The investigating officer was Detective Sergeant Siboniso Gcaba of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) in Port Shepstone.
