Spring cleaning in Ifafa

Overgrown grass and verges were also cut and maintained in the area.

Umdoni Municipality welcomed spring by hosting a cleanup at Ifafa beach last week as part of their municipal cleanup campaign.

Municipal officials and general workers spent hours cleaning up the beach that morning and filled numerous bags with rubbish.

Umdoni mayor councillor Sibongile Khathi ended the day’s event by planting a few trees in celebration of Arbor Week and encourages other to do the same.

The cleanup campaign was supported by the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs as well as Ugu District Municipality’s Environmental Services.
