Sarel catches first snake of season

Sarel had been called to remove it from the farm due to it being close to the workers' compound.

Snake catcher Sarel van der Merwe recently bagged his first black mamba for the season at Kembali Farms in Izotsha.

The snake, a three-metre (at least) monster, had climbed from tree to tree to a very high height.

Sarel had been called to remove it from the farm due to it being close to the workers’ compound

Never fear when Sarel is near, and he managed to nab the deadly mamba in the tree.

As he climbed down with the black mamba, one of the men holding the stepladder got scared and let go of the ladder.

Sarel said he had to keep his eyes on the snake and couldn’t look down.

Luckily the foreman quickly grabbed hold of the ladder and prevented it from falling.

Sarel thanked Kembali for caring and phoning him to safely remove the mamba.
