Just in: 24 people injured in taxi collision near Port Shepstone

This is the third horrific accident in 48 hours on the KZN South Coast.

A collision involving two taxis on the P200 near Port Shepstone earlier this morning has left two dozen people injured.
 
Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found two patients had sustained critical injuries and were trapped in the taxi.

Ten patients sustained serious injuries and 12 patients sustained minor injuries.
 
Craig Botha of KwaZulu Private Ambulance said paramedics together with fire and rescue services used specialised rescue equipment to extricate the patients from the taxi.
 
The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital.
