Margate police hot on the heels of drug dealers

All spheres of society must actively support initiatives to cripple the drug trade locally.

Margate Drug Task Team utilized their intelligence and targeted drug dealers operating in the Margate Extension 3 area.

An operation was conducted and at least three people have been arrested by the team over the weekend.

Police spokesman Sergeant Sibu Ncane said two residences in the area were targeted and 140 capsules of heroin and some Mandrax tablets were recovered.

The three suspects will appear again in court on February 22, 2022.

They were released on bail.

Station Commander Brigadier William Slabbert urges the public to continue to report drug dealers and other criminal activities to police as the war on drugs cannot be fought by law enforcement alone.

All spheres of society must actively support initiatives to cripple the drug trade locally.
