Cattle thieves nabbed, bakkie confiscated

Police were patrolling along the R612 during the early hours of the morning when they came across a bakkie pulling a trailer with three cattle.

Sawoti SAPS Vispol members arrested three suspects aged 18, 23 and 27 for stock theft last Tuesday.

Police were patrolling along the R612 during the early hours of the morning when they came across a bakkie pulling a trailer with three cattle.

According to the Ugu District’s police spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge, the bakkie was stopped by police after a case of stock theft was opened at Umzinto SAPS.

The bakkie and trailer were confiscated pending further investigation, and the suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
