4 family members killed in New Year’s Eve shooting inland of Port Shepstone

Four people were shot and killed in a suspected armed robbery at their home in KwaDweshula last night, as folk were preparing to welcome in the new year.

It is alleged that the gunmen stormed the house and opened fire.

According to reports, those killed were a mother, her son, and two daughters.

The surname of the family is known to the South Coast Herald, but has not been released, as an official statement from Saps is still awaited.

It is believed that all four died at the scene of the shooting.

KwaDweshula is a rural area located in the Ugu District Municipality, within the Umzumbe Local Municipality.

It is about 40km from Port Shepstone, about on the KZN South Coast.
