Enjoy island vibes and delectable cuisine at Maltos

Maltos offers two dining areas, relaxed and sophisticated.

Boasting spectacular sea views and situated on the island setup of the Wild Coast Sun pool area, Maltos Restaurant is one of a kind.

The restaurant was officially opened on September 19 and is one of two in the country which is part of Sun International.

It offers guests an opportunity to be transported to the Mediterranean islands with its inspired blue and white colour scheme, and is the perfect destination for families and diners who want to enjoy some island vibes.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of Greek, Italian and of course Mediterranean cuisine which includes tapas, pizza, fish, calamari and the best sushi prepared by Maltos’ inhouse sushi chef Siboniso Ndwalane.

Maltos’ Wild Coast manager, Graeme Blignault said they have 150 seats inside the restaurant and 30 more at the bar.

“We also serve in the pool area, where our guests can enjoy the beautiful scenery while sipping on a cocktail, and if they are lucky enjoy some whale watching.”

Graeme said he is honoured to be managing the 30-plus staff members who are local and received in-house training, with the exception of head chef, Thato Khumalo who he brought down from Maltos Sun City.

“All our food is freshly prepared in our kitchen, cooked to perfection and is guaranteed to be ‘second to none’. We also serve the best wine from the Durbanville Hills Collectors Reserve. One can pair a platter of halloumi, souvlaki or keftedes with a glass of crisp Chardonnay, Champagne or sparkling wine or try a cocktail which blends Greek ouzo, vodka and orange juice into sips of pure cheerfulness.

“To match the restaurant’s design around the bar we have exclusive artwork from a Margate artist Terrence Pieters of Orange Rocks, who captures the waves and the ocean currents, tides and the swells.”

Graeme said the restaurant caters for the younger crowd who enjoy swimming in the indoor pool which is a drawcard.

“We also offer kiddies options on our menu and every single dish is made with focus, making sure we only dish out the best,” Graeme added.

Maltos Wild Coast is open from 12:00 until 10:00, and drinks in the pool area are served from as early as 10:00 daily.
