Sleek Suzuki Swift is a smart choice
The fourth-generation Suzuki Swift offers immense bang for your hard-earned buck.
Driving around in a fuel-efficient Suzuki Swift for a week just before the December holidays was a smart choice. Overall, it’s an impressive car that combines great performance with stunning looks.
It’s clear the Swift is youthful, and its energetic exterior styling is a big part of its all-round appeal.
Its engine is designed for fuel saving, around 4.9l/100km is possible, meaning less money spent on petrol for errands and holiday preparations. Having my sons visit for the December break made driving the Swift even more enjoyable.
Everyday I had to listen to arguments of who is sitting in the front seat. Aaran, my 15 year-old son had no choice as the younger one, Aarav controlled the situation and we had to listen to ‘Back to the Beach’ by Kyle Deutsch and Shekinah every morning.

Yup, this 7-year-old took to the infotainment system with ease, connecting the phone via Bluetooth and enjoying the navigation, and was thrilled to pin-point the different areas we visited.
Now the Swift is sleek, and I had the automatic transmission which made driving a pleasure. The unique 3D rear lights adds a modern touch to the design and creates a striking visual impact when illuminated. Additionally, the 15-inch alloy wheels not only enhance the Swift’s bold appearance, but also ensure excellent handling and stability on the road.
In the cabin, the black dashboard adds an elegant touch to the interior. The Swift is spacious and we found it super comfortable. It is powered by a 1.2L engine and offers 60Kw and 112Nm of torque.
On the safety side, all models come with six airbags as standard, as well as electronic stability programme, hill hold control and emergency break assist.
Also standard across the range are electric windows on all four doors, a height adjustable driver’s seat and rear seats that can fold in a 60/40 configuration for that additional loading space.
In short, the Swift is practical, economical and enjoyable, hence, all the good memories made.
