Cops arrest Hibberdene shooter

The man (20) was able to identify the shooter and an investigation by Hibberdene Detective Service began in earnest.

A mother and her son were asleep at their home when she heard her son crying out in pain after he had been shot in the leg.

The incident happened in Hibberdene on April 26.

Last Thursday, Hibberdene Task team and Provincial Crime Intelligence conducted an intelligence-driven operation at KwaHlongwa area where a man (42) was arrested.

Saps Ugu District Communication said the suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol of which the serial number had been filed off.

He appeared in the Umzumbe Magistrate’s Court.

He faces charges of attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
