10 years jail time for murderer

The murder occurred in Umzinto last year.

Siphosethu Notha (36) recently appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court where he was convicted and sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for murder.

In September last year, a dispute resulted in the death of a man (30) from Sanathan Informal Settlement in Umzinto.

When the man arrived at a clinic, he succumbed to his stab wounds.

Notha was traced to Howick and he handed himself over to police.

At his sentencing, he was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

The investigating officer was Detective Sergeant Senzo Chiliza of Umzinto Detective Service.
