Illegal firearm seized in Bhomela

The public is called to action to help reduce crime.

Ugu District Task Team members were recently carrying out a crime intelligence-driven operation on an identified target in Bhomela under Paddock policing area.

Information regarding an illegal firearm prompted the members to conduct a search of the residence.

A shotgun, three live rounds of ammunition and a heroin capsule were recovered.

A man (34) was arrested, and will appear in court.

Ugu District Deputy Commissioner Brigadier Anton Kapp appeals to the public to report criminal activities to police. They can remain anonymous.

“The public is called to action to help reduce crime in their respective areas in conjunction with CPF structures and local law enforcement and to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.”
