Contractor appears in Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on multiple fraud charges

A building contractor known as Russell Reddy, whose real name is Yensagren Ganas Reddy (54), appeared in Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court last week. Reddy, of Bayview in Chatsworth, was arrested on September 30 on more than seven charges, including fraud and theft.

Operating under the business name P&R Construction and Maintenance, he is accused of targeting pensioners in Shelly Beach, Hibberdene and Southport, offering renovations or household maintenance before disappearing with payments or deposits.

After a bail application led by Senior State Prosecutor Ruben Judnarain, Reddy was released on R5000 bail.

He is due back in court on November 26.
