Cops seize revolver and 150 bottles of cough mixture in Umzinto
A woman from Ghandinagar was selling scheduled medication at her residence.
Members of the Public Order Police from Marianhill received information on criminal activities at the Sanathan informal settlement in Umzinto, while conducting patrols last Friday.
A search was conducted at the residence of a 43-year-old man, and a revolver with one round of ammunition was recovered.
The suspect was arrested and charged for possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition.
The members also received information of a 49-year-old woman selling scheduled medication at a residence in Ghandinager, Umzinto. She was charged and arrested in terms of the Medicine Act 101/1965 Section 22 and released on bail.
Both matters will be dealt with at the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court.
It’s unknown at this stage as to how the woman acquired 150 bottles of cough mixture.
