Father arrested for child’s murder in Amahlongwa

According to police investigations, the child was sexually assaulted and murdered.

Police are investigating the murder of a six-year-old girl from the Amahlongwa, Plazini area.

According to Umkomaas Saps, on April 16 the child was taken to GJ Crookes Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigations revealed that the child was sexually assaulted and murdered.

The case has been assigned to Detective Sergeant Shanon Ramlall of the Serious and Violent Crimes Unit, and the child’s biological father has since been arrested as a suspect.

He appeared in court recently and was remanded back into custody for a formal bail application.

Umkomaas Saps station commander Colonel Samkelisiwe Favourite Mncwango praised Ramlall for the swift arrest.
