Scottburgh Lions Club members did their share for the community when they donated blankets and soup ingredients to the local hospice house in celebration of Mandela Day.
This was for hospice’s ongoing winter warmth project.
The soup ingredients are put into a jar for the ‘Jar of Hope’ initiative. A patient then adds the contents of the jar to a pot of boiling water, and they are able to create an easy and nutritious soup in a short period of time.
Vegetables such as potatoes, onions and carrots are also given to people as an addition to the soup – for which they were very grateful.
