Colour fun walk in Scottburgh raises cancer awareness
It was all about community spirit and hope, said event organiser Lorna Thomson.
Scottburgh was filled with smiles, positive energy and a whole lot of pink and blue at the Colour Fun Walk for breast cancer awareness on Sunday.

The event took place on Marine Terrace and consisted of a scenic beach walk.
Participants incorporated pink and blue in their outfits and had the opportunity to adorn themselves in these colours with coloured powders at the start of the walk.

Event organiser Lorna Thomson said that the walk was a resounding success showing community spirit and hope.
“As a cancer conqueror of 18 years and currently facing another battle with a new cancer diagnosis, I was deeply moved by the turnout and the stories shared by participants,” she said.

“The event was more than just a walk – it was a celebration of life, a tribute to those who’ve fought and lost, and a message of hope for those currently battling cancer, like myself.”

Lorna also mentioned that many participants commented on the enjoyable atmosphere and the sense of community that pervaded the event.
“The walk was a chance for people to come together, share their stories and support each other. I’m grateful to our volunteers, sponsors and the amazing team.”

“It’s clear that this event was not just about raising awareness, but about creating a sense of hope, resilience and community. It was an honour to be a part of it, and I’m grateful to have been able to share it with so many amazing people.”
