Art-in-the-Park launching soon in Uvongo
The exhibition will be run from 09:00 to 15:00 every first Saturday of the month.
On the first Saturday of February (7th) art lovers and art collectors will awake to a pleasant arty surprise!
Uvongo will play host to the first ever Art-in-the-Park event on the South Coast, at the quaint park-like area between the Uvongo Spar and the iVungu River Bridge.
The exhibition will be run from 09:00 to 15:00.
Close on 50 local artists, young and old, new and experienced, of all race groups and residential areas, have already committed to taking part in the event.
Artworks on exhibition will be limited to original fine art paintings, sculptures and ceramic/pottery art.
Event initiator Johann du Toit said the concept of having an open air art exhibition on a regular basis in the pleasant surroundings of a nature park, is a concept which is done worldwide with tremendous success for artists.
“The event will be taking place every first Saturday of each month, making it sustainable in the long run. Moreover, over time it has the potential to grow into a sought after tourist attraction.”
