Southcity Classic Family Day returns bigger and better
Beyond the sporting action, visitors can look forward to a true family festival experience.
The much-loved Southcity Classic Family Day is set to return on Saturday, August 22 (postponed from August 1 due to inclement weather) promising a day packed with fun, fitness, family entertainment, and community spirit.
Hosted by Southcity Christian Schools, the annual event has become a highlight on the Durban calendar, bringing together families, friends, athletes, and supporters for a memorable day of activities and celebration.
Gates open at 06:45.
This year’s event features a variety of exciting sporting challenges, including the ever-popular 5km and 10km fun runs, mountain bike race, road cycle race, and the crowd-favourite duathlon.
Participants of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to take part and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
Adding to the excitement, the 2026 event introduces a brand-new Triple Challenge, where teams will compete in hockey, soccer and netball, showcasing teamwork, skill, and friendly competition.

The Kidz Zone will keep younger guests entertained with jumping castles, sensory play activities, face painting, Gymbo Kids, and many other fun attractions.
Food stalls, live entertainment, exhibitions, and family-friendly activities will ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.
