Umkomaas Saps celebrated its women officers with a special high tea at Scottburgh’s Blue Marlin Hotel.

The event was held as a post-Women’s Month celebration on September 9 and served as a powerful tribute to women’s empowerment and leadership within Saps.

The event commenced with a warm welcome to all delegates by Captain Roselyn Thevan, the supply chain management commander.

This was followed by a moving declaration for women by Detective Captain Maya Chetty, which set an empowering and uplifting tone for the day.

Attendees were treated to an inspiring, motivational talk by Lifeline social worker Sindi Gwala, who addressed the unique challenges and strengths of women in society.

Detective Captain Kreeba Govender marked the occasion by handing out special gifts to all the guests.

After formalities, the women enjoyed their high tea and warm atmosphere. They thanked all involved in ensuring the day was a success.

Umkomaas Saps is led by its first female station commander, Colonel Samkelisiwe Favourite Mncwango, and boasts seven commissioned female officers who play a vital role in ensuring strict governance and compliance at all times.
