The sidewalk outside Fascadale Heights in Ramsgate had become a serious hazard, with broken and uneven pavers making life difficult for pedestrians.

It has increased the risk of someone tripping, especially for elderly residents and visitors unfamiliar with the area.

The Ramsgate Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association (RRA) team recently stepped in to remove all the broken pavers.

They also properly levelled and compacted the substrate, and the walkway was relaid with new pavers.

Where possible, original pavers in good condition were reused to keep costs down and reduce waste.

The result is a safe, level and attractive sidewalk that restores pride to this busy section of the village.

This is what the RRA does – they don’t just talk, they fix – and it’s the small projects that make a big daily difference.

The RRA thanked businesses along the strip for their patience and cooperation during the work, and also thanked companies and individuals who provided goods and services at discounted rates.

In addition to this, Suzette de Jager and her team of women from the RRA have repainted kerbs in Ramsgate, including Fascadale Road, the Glenmarkie Drive circle, and others.

The fresh yellow and white paint makes such a difference.
