Colour Run proves inspirational

The sports event helped raise money for this years Matric Dance.

Scottburgh High School (SHS) recently hosted a colour run at Rocky Bay Trails in support of their Matric Dance for the Class of 2022.

It was coordinated by the school’s senior learner and prefect, Teya Koulountis and the Matric Dance committee.

The colour run draws its inspiration from the Hindu Festival of Colour, Holi, which is a celebration of divine and eternal love of Radha-Krishna.

In recent years it has become popular and significant in bringing communities together in a fun environment, full of camaraderie.

SHS acknowledges its sponsors with immense gratitude.

The day would not have been possible if it were it not for volunteer matriculants, the staff, Annien Koulountis, Rocky Bay Resort, Dock 360, Sinokubonga Mbhele, Tracy James and Lindy Moodley.

The community is the school’s biggest supporter, which showed up with over 200 entries.

Winner of the Colour Run was Bunele Page, followed by Connor Dunnet, with Mathew Holloway in third position.
