Port Shepstone High is top achieving school in Ugu District
School leadership expressed their pride in the recognition.
Port Shepstone High has been recognised as the top achieving school in the Ugu District at the 2025 National Senior Certificate Awards ceremony at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on March 11.
The award acknowledges the school’s outstanding academic performance in the 2025 National Senior Certificate examinations. This achievement reflects the dedication, hard work and commitment of the school’s learners, teachers and supportive parent community.
School leadership expressed their pride in the recognition, noting that the award is the result of a sustained culture of academic excellence and collective effort within the school.
A strong contingent travelled to face Hillcrest High on March 14 in a full round of fixtures across rugby, hockey and netball. With excellent sportsmanship, talent and skill on display throughout the day, the results were a fairly evenly split between the two schools.
The highlight of the day came on the rugby field, where the PSHS 1st XV secured an impressive 22–3 victory over Hillcrest. Playing with conviction, determination and heart, the team delivered a disciplined and spirited performance to earn a well-deserved win.
