DEAR Editor,-
Uvongo is very lucky to have a functioning library with competent and friendly librarians, however, like all other public services, the building requires repairs and maintenance from time to time.
The roof above the archive room was badly damaged in a storm some time ago and this has not been repaired although I was assured that it has been reported to the relevant department. Some of the lights need to be replaced, but apparently there is no ladder, so this cannot be done?
Much of the archived material was destroyed as a result of the leak, but there are still books and documents in the room which are likely to be damaged as a result of the leaking roof.
