DEAR Editor:
I attended the recent meeting – or rather I attended half the meeting – at the Hibberdene Community Hall, but left early as I could not face listening to the useless information being given by the Ugu officials.
We listened to rambling and irrelevant information, none of which gave any indication of the exact cause of the current water crisis, or the definitive steps being taken to end it.

The public was then invited to pose questions, which would be answered in due course.
These questions were supposedly answered by the Ugu technical manager in a rambling, incoherent way.
He appeared to be telling us of the intricate technical details of resurrecting the water supply, none of which were relevant to the ending of the crisis.
We do not need to know which valve needs to be opened or closed, we want to know when you will fix it, who is responsible for the disruptions and how you intend to prevent further disruptions.
Instead, you had the audacity to ask us, the public, for solutions.
You are supposed to be in control. As someone once said (Teddy Roosevelt?) “Do not come to me with problems, come to me with solutions”.
So fix it, Ugu management, or get out – you are the problem.
