DEAR Editor:-
It is with a sad heart that we write this letter as most of us now know of the devastating trail the coronavirus has left and is still leaving in the world.
Our hearts go out to everyone being affected by this disease.

Many people in our country and communities are already suffering because of the state of the country at the moment and we are not close to recovering from this – and now this devastating virus.
More and more people are going to suffer and unfortunately in the work we do, we will know firsthand the enormous poverty people are going to suffer.
We appeal to everyone in the community to please stay calm and let’s show love and compassion to one another during this difficult time.
We also appeal to you to reach out to us as a organisation.
Our market, with which we raise money to help the less-privileged in the community has also being called off, so there is no way we can raise money to help those in need.
We need everyone’s help to keep donating to Joanne’s Angels.
We desperately need donations of food items, furniture, kitchen supplies, clothing, bedding, toys, beds, electric appliances, wool, material and anything really.
We have lists of people waiting to be helped, but unfortunately we can only do so much with the economy the way it is.
Because of the virus, we have also had to cancel Easter visits to Alex Park Old Age Home and Amcup Rehab, as well as the Easter outreach to children, but decided to go ahead and fill bottles and baskets with Easter eggs and biscuits for delivery to those venues to bring a little joy to all.
Unfortunately we cannot stop functioning because of the coronavirus and still have to take care of those vulnerable people in our community.
So please help them by donating to us.
We are willing to pick up from you and will make sure to wear masks and gloves.

Just an afterthought – by donating to us, you as a community are helping someone vulnerable at the moment. Especially now, people need to be well-fed to have a chance of fighting any sickness.
