OPINION: ‘Promote the coast… but only when there’s water’

This water issue is not confined to the Albersville area, many areas on the South Coast have been battling without water for months.

DEAR Editor;

I live in Albersville and we are continually having water issues.

There will be water for a few days, and then nothing for days.

No one at the call centre answers the phone, and our poor ward councillor, Leon Garbade, is on sick leave, but he still tries to help.

This water issue is not confined to the Albersville area, many areas on the South Coast have been battling without water for months.

This is why I am amazed that the Herald and Fever, both have chosen to promote the South Coast in this week’s edition.

The South Coast is beautiful, there is so much to see and do, lots of hidden gems everywhere.

My family and I, love discovering all the wonderful treasures here.

But to promote this area, call on tourists to come to stay, knowing a good water supply is a scarcity… that is not on.

Come to the South Coast, have a blast, but sorry, there’s no running water available.

I would definitely not consider going somewhere on holiday, where water is unavailable in the taps.

Please, please, the media is powerful. Help us!

We need a regular supply of water, not just for tourists, but for us, residents, who have to live and work here. It’s a desperate situation.

A RANGILA
Albersville
