OPINION: ‘Giant fig tree collapses onto road’

Thankfully no one or any property was damaged.

DEAR Editor;

This old wild fig tree blew over, across Adam’s Road, Scottburgh last Thursday at 17:00. As it was getting dark and would not be clearly visible later on, Shane Potgieter and Alan Drew from KwaZulu-Natal Tree Risk Management spent two hours clearing a temporary through road for residents… in the cold, wet weather.

The fig tree is chopped up and removed.

My husband I have a view over this area, so we called disaster management to attend to the incident, but had no response. Thankfully no one or any property was damaged.
