DEAR Editor;
Why has the police commissioner not ordered stricter measures against the riots taking place?
In March last year, the army was mobilised to to maintain the state of disaster regulations. Hundreds of people were arrested for being on the beach, surfing or taking their dog for a walk.
Why are they not mobilised to maintain the peace and protect innocent citizens from these so called protesters and why are the looters, plunderers and arsonists not arrested?
It is obvious that under the president’s lockdown regulations, these gatherings are unlawful and were not granted permission to take place.
Being as violent as they are makes it a riot and not a demonstration. Are these troublemakers aware that Zuma is in jail and not in the supermarket warehouses.
