OPINION: ‘Failure to fix bridges’

I notice that your article's criticism of the state of bridges and failure to fixed it.

DEAR Editor;

A brilliant article in the Herald of July 9, 2021. Congrats.

I notice that your article’s criticism of the state of bridges and failure to fixed it.

The state of bridges in general:

* One wonders why nothing is done to stop the stripping(stealing) of railings on bridges between Port Shepstone and Durban? (the price of aluminum must be good as scrap).

* All railings should be stripped before the strippers drop some on cars travelling on the roads below with disastrous consequences.

* Then the danger that looms near the entrance of the R102/Port Shepstone (Confusion Junction) as a huge hole and the bridge falling in – an accident waiting to happen putting life and limb at risk!

Keep up the good work.

PIET CLOETE
